Cross country report – Blean woods 6th February
The fifth cross country in the Kent fitness league saw our team of 22 competing at the Blean woods leg on Sunday. Conditions were better than the forecast with a breezy and sunny morning. The wooded course started on the grass playing fields with some mole hills to negotiate, then into the woods for one loop. The wet and sticky mud three miles in was a challenge as were the steep gravely hills.
Our team included 1 new debutant to this season’s racing, Jamie Collins.
Claire Greenaway was our first lady home in 44th. Jack Bradley led our men’s team in a creditable 4th overall with our senior men Jordan Gilbert (21st) and Jacob (38th) Dean Evans also had a great run for V40 in (19th). All our veteran athletes also dug deep to add to the important overall team scoring getting in amongst the 430 runners.
Today saw another great performance this season with a 6th place for Team TRAC conciliating our presence in amongst the big clubs.
Overall, in the league, our joint team’s position within the 18 clubs remains with TRAC at 7th position and the ladies held onto 8th in their individual league. We finished the morning with our usual hot drinks and a great selection of homemade cakes sharing our stories of the great team Trac performance again.
Look forward to some great pics on social media.
The last round is an early start of 9.00am at Knole Park, Sevenoaks. 20th February. Lets end the season on a high and finish a fantastic season for TRAC, that is sure to be the highest we’ve been in the league.
