TRAC – Runner of the month –

Chris Pascoe has been chosen as RUNNER OF THE MONTH for July…

 

 

In a relatively short period of time with the club, Chris has become a very well respected and liked TRAC runner. Last year, Chris joined the cross country team and put in some great runs as well as demonstrating his talent for baking (team cakes being a key feature of our events). This year, Chris focused on training for some major events; in April running the Manchester marathon in a great time of 3h11, followed by a 44 mile ultra marathon in Cornwall in May, which he completed in an incredible 9 hours and 11 minutes (37th place).

 

Chris shows great joy in his running (just look at the photo) and provides a lot of encouragement to everyone around him in club runs and races.  Huge congratulations Chris!

 

We asked Chris ‘What attracted you to join TRAC?’

 

I took part in the Deal Half Marathon back in 2022 and saw the camaraderie amongst different clubs and knew that I wanted to join a club. I did some research and found TRAC.  Jo and Jon called me and I was sold.

 

Whats your best moment?
Completing the Ultra Marathon in May. Being in my home county and having the support of my friends and family was incredible. Running 44 miles of the beautiful Cornish coast was an experience I will never forget.

 

What would you say to a new person who is considering joining?
Do it! You won’t look back, you aren’t just joining a club, you are going to surround yourself with like minded supportive people who will become your friends. You will always have someone by your side, cheering you on.

 

What does the club mean to you?
Being a member of the club has given me a passion to push myself as much as possible. I would never have dreamt that I would be competing in races, running marathons and an ultra marathon. Having the support of the club, attending run sessions and track has given me the tools I needed to deliver on these.  It  gives me purpose and a sense of belonging.
