Deal Castle 5 mile – Race Report –
**By Olly Regan**
Hi all,
A bit of a brief one today, however useful (I hope) nonetheless.
On the 3rd November, myself and other TRACies headed to Deal, (Kent) for a 5 mile race.
This race was hosted by Deal Tri Club, with chip timing provided by the good people of Nice Work.
Although the morning did seem to pose threats of poor weather, it thankfully held off and gave everyone racing cloudy but cool running conditions for the fast and flat race that was shortly to come.
The course was a practically pancake flat (dare I say flatter than Sandwich 10km Race – for those who’ve raced there) out and back route that took place on Deal seafront just before the scout hut, before going out towards Kingsdown where it then turned around, heading back in the direction of Deal Pier and then turning back round for the final 900m or so to the finish line.
The course as a result made for some definite PB’s amongst competitors, as such I can definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a quick time!
Well done to all of our TRACies, fantastic running today and hopefully this summary has provided anyone reading with more of an insight into this fantastic race and may even consider entering next year!
8th – Adam Foster – 28:55
9th – Olly Regan – 29:07
44th – Stephen Suttle – 35:12
60th – Gemma Barnes – 36:12
221st – Gaynor Shelvey – 1:30:54
Well done everyone and thanks Olly for the race report
