Kent Christmas Cracker – Race Report –

Sunday 22nd December saw the annual Kent Christmas Cracker 5 mile race at Betteshanger Park.

As well as the 5 miler, there was an option of a 2 mile fun run plus a childrens race.

Hosted by Nice Work this is a truly festive event with many runners turning out in full Christmas regalia.

The 5 mile course was pretty much two laps of the wide and traffic free tarmac cycle path.

I know it’s winter but conditions were far from ideal with very strong bitterly cold winds battering all the participants. Certainly not a day for a PB (or was it….)

Despite this the club saw some strong performances, excellent results and a Christmas sack full of trophies.

Lee Hardie came 3rd overall and 1st male V45.

Asmaa Hatim came in 2nd female.

Lee Hardie, Jude Wood (4th overall) and Dan Grech (9th overall) secured the mens team prize for TRAC.

A mention to Robbie Day who managed to get a 5k PB in the middle of this 5 mile race, showing how his running is going from strength to strength.

Well done to everyone!

Merry Christmas and a Happy 2025!!
