The below will give you our Club Championship full rules:

The club championships is a friendly competition for all members.  It is based on the 10 events in the Kent Grand Prix and a Marathon of your choice.  The marathon must be from an officially measured marathon course and be UKA certified.

For the marathon, Mens / Ladies performances will be scored from 30 being the fastest (same as the other races).  We don’t always know who has run marathons and where –  so you need to email “runcaptains@thanetroadrunnersac.com” with your time and race details (date and location) so we can score everyone.  Please don’t assume we will know that you have put in a cracking performance somewhere – you need to tell us !

To compete in the Club Championship, you should wear your club vest when you run.  If you run in any of the events listed above and run in club kit you will automatically be counted and your points will be taken from the event results.

Up to 6 events will be counted.  However, you must compete in a minimum of 3 (including a marathon if you want to include this).  Your best 6 results will score if you run more than 6.  You will get 10 points for running in the event.  The first 20 members of each sex to finish will score extra points with the first home scoring 20 points descending to the 20th club finisher scoring 1 point.

Men’s and ladies are scored separately.  There will be awards for overall men’s and ladies and also in age groups as follows: Men’s seniors, V40, V50, V60 and V70.  Ladies seniors, V35, V45, V55 and V65.

With regards to age categories, any individuals crossing an age threshold during the year will automatically enter the competition for their age on the date of the first race they run.  Any competitor that comes of age during the year and after the first race who would rather enter the competition in a new category will only score in the races of their new category.  If this affects you, please inform the captain of the first race within your new age category.  Your points in the younger category will the be deleted.

Awards will be presented at the annual club presentation night.  All members are very welcome to participate no matter what your reason for running is or how competitive you are.

Further news on the Club Champs and latest standings will be posted on the website after each event.
