TRAC London Marathon – Virtual Run

Following the disappointing but inevitable news of the London Marathon cancellation, the idea of completing the distance and submitting your time is an option for those who have entered.

TRAC runners are invited to join our the run-captains (Chris Brenchley & Nicola Boyes) on the 4th October in Margate whilst the elites battle for the podium in the city alone.

This would take place on 4th October 2020 with a flexible 08:00 start at our Margate Marathon start. It will also be our marathon course that will be used which is also accurately measured.

We are encouraging all our Traccie’s that had entered, and any others that want to support, running all or some parts of the run to get involved.

The run will be self-supported; however, we will encourage run leaders or helpers such as your family to support you at your own chosen points.

Anyone who wishes to take part would be encouraged to run with others of a similar ability. Although there may not be any records being broken, with this distance we will all be looking to complete the distance as our own challenges with no doubling back or waiting.

As the route will follow our very own marathon route, runners will need to be familiar with the route. Guidance can be given prior to the event.

The route is a figure of 8 allowing your own aid station at halfway (your car parked!) The route has been approximately loaded to the best of our knowledge here.

If you would like to get involved, please email Chris and Nikki at runcaptians@thanetroadrunnersac.com.
