A Successful Year for TRAC in the Kent Grand Prix

Capping off a fantastic year of running for the club comes the news today that the Thanet Roadrunners AC achieved an impressive 3rd place finish overall in the Kent Grand Prix. Throughout 2019, the club has competed against 49 other running clubs in Kent across ten separate events with our Men’s team managing to finish in 3rd.

Our Women’s team also had a very good year and managed a fantastic 12th place finish overall. We had 34 individual club members (24 men and 10 women) participate throughout the year which further goes to demonstrate how much of a team effort this really was.

Our Men’s Captain, Chris Brenchley, had an impressive year and managed to finish 5th overall and claimed 3rd place in the Men’s V40 category. Closely behind Chris was Andy Stevens who has also had an impressive year finished in 13th position overall and 6th place in the V40 category. Steve Suttle managed a very good position in the V60 category by finishing in 5th. Last but not least for our Men’s team is Dave Winch and Phillip Cope who managed to finish 1st and 2nd respectively in the V70 category. Our Women’s Captain, Nikki Boyes, was our highest placed female finishing in 61st position overall followed closely by Elizabeth Carr in 69th place. The trophies will be presented after the Canterbury 10 mile Race presentation on 26th January 2020.

We would like to specifically mention all of our runners that took part and scored points in the Kent Grand Prix last year; Nikki Boyes, Elizabeth Carr, Genevieve Case, Ruby Spencer, Jo Holl, Jasmine Laslett, Abigail Cardwell, Pauline Pettit, Joanne Jeffreys, Rebecca Williams, Gaynor Shelvey, Chris Brenchley, Andy Stevens, Owen Mitchell, Richard Allan, Bradley Cameron, Dave Winch, John Dickerson, David Riordan, Max Hubbard, Simon Arter, Dan Clark, Pete Heath, Richard Purton, Steve Forshaw, Michael Philpot, Steve Suttle, Jon Holl, Jamie Collins, Scot Haggarty, Kristen Lasslett, Philip Cope, Mark Hadden, Paul Brackenborough and Oliver Northrop.
