Junior Training

The committee decided this week (August 2024) that JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP WILL BE FREE at least until April renewal.

We really want to be a club for all and accessible by all.

Where & When

Junior training takes place at St Peters Recreational Ground and other venues under the supervision of UKA Level 2 & 3 qualified and DSB-checked coaches.

We support and encourage but don’t ‘push’ young runners, encouraging them to take ownership of their own training goals.

Wednesday 18th (Hartsdown)

We are currently taking on juniors aged 9 and above.

We cover all aspects of running to prepare our juniors for track and cross country events.  We actively encourage our juniors to take part in events where they can represent their club at local, county and national level.

Schools’ cross country events take place each year.  Local runners are chosen after taking part in qualifying events.  More information can be found here on the on the Kent County Athletics Association and Kent Schools Athletics Association

During the summer months, there are also a number of “open meetings” throughout the track season that athletes of all ages are encouraged to register for and race in.  These are mainly organised by the athletics’ clubs in Kent such as Invicta East Kent and Tonbridge AC.  although many more events can be found on the Entry4Sports website.  Your junior coaches will raise awareness of these meetings at the training sessions.
