FIRST RACE BACK 🎉

Smugglers 10k in Minnis Bay.

What a mix of emotions the first race of 2021 was.

The weather was absolutely atrocious! 6 degrees with a feel of 2 degrees and side wind of 28mph. Not what we expected for April’s Easter weekend, 🥴 especially when 3 days ago we were happily sunbathing.🌪💨

I’m not sure whether we preferred the first 5k slipping about through a field but being slightly shielded from the wind, or the tarmac 5k with nothing protecting us from the elements! At times I was imagining being blown off the path and landing in the bushes below. 😂

Putting aside the fact they forgot to do a sun dance for us, 😂 Sporting Events did a fantastic job of welcoming us back into 2021 racing. There was a wonderful atmosphere at the race, both of appreciation and excitement to be back. 🎉

The cannon to start the race definitely gave us all a rush of adrenaline (in other words made us jump out of our skin) and the beautiful parrots wandering around were an exciting addition to a well thought out theme. 🦜🦜🦜

Now it’s time to snuggle on the sofa with some Easter Eggs 🥳🥳🍫🍫
