Brett Lydd Half Marathon and 20 miler
Well done to all our TRACCIES who took part. Some great performances there and you’re all looking in great shape for those Spring Marathons!!
Thank you Chris Pascoe for the below race report and photos.
The Brett Lydd Half and 20 Mile race coincides with many of our Marathon training schedules, with longs runs planned for many of us each Sunday. It’s the perfect opportunity to dust off our racing shoes, or test out new ones and hit the road for a speedy 20 mile race. Lydd is known to be extremely flat with a total elevation of around 110 ft. Yesterday’s conditions were perfect; the sun was shining, the winds were low and the temperature was just right.
The race is an out and back, taking racers along narrow country lanes surrounded by flat agricultural land. There were three water stations on the way out and back with a few eager spectators cheering us along.
As the course is so flat it’s a speedy race and everyone was pleased with their overall performance. It seemed that everyone from TRAC hit their desired pace and delivered on their finish time.
Special thanks to our Cheer Leader Support Team – Liz and Bethany Brown and the delicious flapjacks that Liz had made for after the race.
