Larkfield 10k – Race Report –
Race Report by Jo Kemp – Ladies Captain –
Some fantastic TRAC club championship performances this weekend at the Larkfield 10k
A competitive race as the Larkfield 10k is also the penultimate race of the Kent Grand Prix series and the Kent 10k Championships.
The forecast thunderstorms luckily did not materialise and we had some fantastic but humid conditions for this 2 lap course. There is a lovely downhill start to the course, with a housing estate section requiring some concentration, and several long inclines testing the runners this morning.
Chris Brenchley led the team home in 20th position, with an amazing time of 37.14, earning him a second place medal in his age category.
The V40 mens team of Matt Finch, Mark Croucher and Chris Pascoe earned 3rd place team medals, congratulations.
The ladies team earned some valuable points for the Kent champs with a strong team of 4 brought home by Georgia Hughes, in 16th position, achieving a fantastic PB in a time of 42.56.
Commiserations to Robbie Day who was unable to finish today due to an ankle injury. Wishing a speedy recovery.
Results – Congratulations to all
