Runnergise 5.5 or 10 mile Trail Race – Canterbury –

Just one Traccie (Mark Croucher) took on this trail race.

Put on by Sporting Events UK. This is what they say about it….

This is something a bit different. If you love trail running or want to give it a go then this is for you. Runnergise, The Trail Running Event, offering a great atmosphere. There is a choice of a 5.5 or 10 mile run, a chilled out mini-event village with good food and space to relax with friends and family. Every finisher will get a medal and a t-shirt.

This event gives you the chance to explore a whole series of trails, starting from St. Edmund’s School in Canterbury. As part of the event you will receive a GPX file to download to your smartwatch or fitness device and a route map which will guide you around the route. The route will be way marked too, and there will be two checkpoints and an enhanced aid station around half way. There’s a whole mixture of surfaces in open countryside and woodland – it’s going to be great.

St. Edmund’s School provides the base for the Event HQ and Event Village. This is a spectacular setting overlooking the cathedral city of Canterbury. The school was founded on its present site in the mid 19th Century. We will have a great range of hot food and refreshments, space to relax before and after the event, and live music.

The 5.5 mile route is a shortcut version of the 10 mile route.
