SUMMER RELAYS 2025

Summer relays are back for 2025 !

We are delighted to announce that the popular summer road relay series will make its comeback in 2025.

For those new to the club, this is a road relay competition between a number of local running clubs set across five Tuesday evenings from May to July (exact dates and locations below) We will have a number of male and female teams taking part across multiple age groups. There are 3 or 4 runners per team (depending on age category) and the distance of each leg is between 2 and 2.75 miles (3.2 and 4.4 km).

At this point we need Members to come forward to express an interest in taking part. Please note, due to competition rules, you need to be EA registered (via your Thanet Roadrunners membership) to take part.

If you are interested please email runcaptains@thanetroadrunnersac.com with the following details:

  • Name
  • Age and DOB (so we know what team to put you in)
    • The dates you can attend (or simply say “all” if you can make all of them)
  • EA registration number (or confirm you will be EA registered by the time the first event starts)

We will appoint leaders/captains for each age group team. We have an overall cap on the number of runners but hope to be able to put out “A” and “B” teams across most age groups. In the last set of relays we were the overall winners over a few age groups and hope to repeat that this time ! .

There is a £5 cost per runner per leg and you will need to pay for each leg you ran in after the series has been completed (so £25 if you take part in all of them).

Dates of relay legs (all start at 7pm):

13th May – Folkestone
27th May – Dover
10th June – Ashford
24th June – Minnis Bay
8th July – Canterbury
