The inaugural TRAC Tuesday morning social run
Nine intrepid runners gathered in the carpark at the end of Botany Road for the first Thanet Roadrunners Tuesday morning social run.
We headed off along Princes Walk towards Margate, with me (Maryanne) leading from the back! Some of us turned around at the Lido, intending to keep the run to around four miles. Terry Brightwell led a small group to the Turner before heading back, trying to beat the rest of us back to the carpark.
After the run a group of us retired to the Botany Bay Hotel for a nice cup of coffee while the rest headed off variously for work or to bed (Kev having come to run directly from a nightshift).
It was agreed that this should become a regular Club run, meeting at the same time and place i.e. 9:30am in the carpark at the bottom of Botany Road. There is plenty of free parking there and access to the hotel for afterwards. If the weather is reasonable we can either run towards Margate or Broadstairs along the Viking Coastal Trail. If it’s very windy then I have a couple of nice routes inland which should offer a bit of shelter.
If people are interested in running with us but have transport issues, please do get in touch as we may be able to arrange a lift.
