Update on our 2020 Club Championships
Due to the numerous race cancellations of the 2020 race season and the forthcoming cancelled races including the Sittingbourne 10 Miler and Tonbridge Half Marathon, the committee has decided to merge the 2020 and 2021 Club Championship seasons together.
This proposal will mean most of us can keep our scores from the three races that we have had in 2020 as 26 men and 10 ladies have scored so far and we also have the Wingham 10K due to take place on the 13thSeptember making a fourth.
The 2021 races will be nominated subject to the dates being released in the normal way selecting races within the Kent Rod Race Championships and Kent Grand Prix, allowing for time to enter the races starting in January 2021.
Anyone who has already scored points this year will then be able to carry over any points to score with your best six scores (plus an official marathon time) from the total of the both years nominated race being used for our Club Championships.
With regards to age categories, any individuals crossing an age threshold during either of the years will automatically enter the competition for their age on the date of the first race they run. Any competitor that becomes of age during either of the years and after the first race, who would rather enter the competition in a new category will only score in the races of their new category. If this affects you, please inform the captain of your first race within your new age category. Your points in your younger category will then be deleted.
