Ashford Givaudan 10K Race Report and Results

The Ashford Givaudan 10K has always been a popular race with our TRACies. This race lends itself well to quick times with it starting and finishing on the running track at the Julie Rose Stadium with the rest of the run taking place on closed roads around Ashford.

An impressive 1190 lined up for this years race which included a very strong field of runners and no less than 10 of our own TRACies. Despite heavy downpours of rain forecasted, the race remained relatively dry with the sun making a brief appearance to warm things up little.

The race was won by Ashford AC’s Lewis Small in a time of 33:07. First to finish for the Thanet Roadrunners in 11th position overall was Andy Stevens in a new personal best time of 35:58. Andy was also the first to finish in male V45 category. The first of our ladies to finish was Brooke O’Hara in an impressive 49:22.

There were also plenty of notable performances from the rest of our runners with Simon Arter finishing in a fantastic 38:57 and Maxwell Hubbard achieving a new personal best 10K time in 40:49. There was also a new course best time for Simon Burton with a time of 46:42 and a new personal best for Daniel Otley of 53:50.

The race was incredibly well organised and marshalled throughout. Well done to all of our runners. The full results for our Thanet Roadrunners were as follows:
