Alan Green 5 and 10 mile road race now open for entries
Alan Green was a founder member of Thanet Roadrunners in 1982.
We honour him every year through our 5 and 10 mile road race, which will take place on SUNDAY 3rd DECEMBER this year.
Terry Brightwell has organised many races on behalf of Thanet Roadrunners and he has stated that this will be his last race. He is keen to make this one something very special.
The race commences at Friends Gap Palm Bay, heading east and looping at Foreness Point, then turning and following Princes Walk west, down Fort Hill, past the Turner Contemporary and then along Westbrook Promenade to West Bay, where it turns.
The five mile race follows a similar route but turns earlier. Minimum age for the race is 15 years of age and prices start at £18 for England Athletics affiliated members .
The 10 mile race has a minimum age of 17 years and prices start at £23 for affiliated runners.
Both courses are relatively flat and fast times are recorded.
The race medal is in the process of being cast and will feature the iconic Dreamland image. It’s one not to miss!
