Paddock Wood Half Marathon – race report

The third Club Championships race took us into the weald of Kent for the Paddock Wood half, 18 of us raced, hoping for good times on the fast flat course. This time a moderate breeze was present on an otherwise perfect day for racing.

The industrial feel to the start at Paddock Wood meant for an organised and traffic free start, before heading quickly out into the Kent countryside. Happy spectators and good marshals all the way with plenty of water stations.

The only undulations were to navigate some roads rising over rail bridges, this meant even splits and some great times by our traccies. Debutant to the half Georgia Hughes was really enjoying the experience with an inevitable PB. Nicky Boyes led our ladies with a PB and second in her age category, as well as PB’s for Nicky Raeburn and Janice Lee-Miller. The Men had Simon Burton enjoying being in good form with a PB and Steve Suttle showing experience with a cracking race time. Andy Stevens clocked another fantastic time to lead our Men’s team.

Scores will be updated asap.
