Thanet Roadrunners AC holds Junior Sessions Twice weekly
Did you know that Thanet Roadrunners AC holds Junior Sessions Twice weekly?
Did you know that Thanet Roadrunners has been running a successful junior section for nearly a quarter of a century and that the club’s junior coaches have been developing young raw athletes into fulfilled athletes that have competed successfully at local, regional, county and even national levels?
Well, its true, and training takes place twice weekly at St Lawrence College, Ramsgate and the floodlit Athletics Track at the Royal Harbour Academy. Training is athlete centred, guiding the athletes via structured training programmes under the supervision of UKA qualified and DBS-checked coaches.
The junior section is focussed on improving athletic performance in a fun and athlete-centred way with a comprehensive multi-sport approach…although running focussed. Opportunities are available for junior athletes to compete in summer relays, cross-country events, and other athletic competitions.
The junior sessions take place as follows:
- Monday indoor sessions take place at St Lawrence College, Ramsgate – from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Payment of £3 per session (cash only) is needed to cover the use of the facilities.
- Thursday night sessions take place at the running track at the Royal Harbour school starting at 6:30 pm.
The club are currently taking on juniors at Years 6 and above (10-year-olds and above). If you are a parent or grandparent and have a budding athlete you think could do with the extra training and guidance, please get in touch with Gary at hello@thanetroadrunnersac.com, via the club WhatsApp or Facebook accounts or directly on 07546 965911.
