Captain’s report from Canterbury East Kent Road Relays final

Twenty nine men and twenty one women lady ‘Traccies’ competed at Canterbury on the 12th July for the final leg of the East Kent relay league.  Thanet Roadrunners AC has used 70 running participants during the season, which shows the depth of support for this event.

A very warm evening this year for our relay teams at Canterbury, starting on the grass playing field and onto a downhill mile in full race mode. Some twisty sections, then round a cone and back uphill leading to a fast finish on the grass for the track style baton change.

Our Senior men’s A “J” team competed on the night with Jay, Jude, Jacob, and Jack this time. This time knowing a podium finish was theirs, but what position? The team came second on the night but had done enough against Folkestone and Ashford to take the first place overall in the league.
