Calling all dads! Sackett 10k and 5k race
Father’s day, Sunday 18th June is the day DADS choose what to do!
Well, perhaps some dads do surely!
Why not encourage a bit of friendly family competition in our Sackett 5k race or 10k race?
The race is named after our legendary President Derek Sackett, who we hope will be there to start you all off. The 5k race is open to runners from 12 years and up and the 10k from 15 years up. We all look up to Derek and want this race to be a fitting tribute to his leadership over many years.
If your son or daughter thinks they are an elite sports person or budding England footballer why not challenge them?
The Sackett 10k race is also part of the Kent Athletics Association Kent Grand Prix 2023 Race Series and will bring runners from across Kent. Expect to see some impressive times! The race has the potential to inspire young runners, just as every dad should be! The 10k race is also part of Thanet Roadrunners Club Championship series.
The race starts at 09:30 am at Baypoint Sports Club, Sandwich Road, Pegwell Bay. We hope that all dads will leave with that winning feeling!
We have a wicked medal awaiting you, which will be revealed in 2 weeks and Canterbury Christchurch University are providing free sports massage.
Our chosen charity this year is Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.
All profits from this race will go towards grass roots running and the air ambulance.
And before you put pen to paper… its not just dads, sons and daughters we’d love to see. If your 90 year old grandmother can manage the 5k we’d love to welcome her and give her a massive cheer
