KFL news – Swanley Park

The second cross country in the Kent fitness league saw our team of 15 competing at Swanley park on Sunday. A morning mist lingered but this made for good race conditions. It was a very busy event of 500plus with many enthusiastic runners giving it their all in a sporting but highly competitive first lap. Two larger laps completed the racing with the leg sapping uphill finish lined with local spectators.

Britany Crombie was our first lady home again in 32nd in the ladies. Jordan Gilbert led our men’s team again in 36th overall.

Our age groupers are setting a great standard within the competition. Philip Morton had another good run to stay in the top 10 in age as well as two of our ladies Julie Williams 5th and Jo Holl 6th in their age groups.

Our joint team continue a good start in the league of 18 clubs and currently hold position in 10th and the ladies up to 5th in their individual league. The men’s individual team were a little short of a complete team this time but held their own and are currently 12th. We finished the morning with hot drinks and cakes under our team gazebo.

Next round is 20th November. Oxleas wood.
